team workingICPI’s Talent Development Process

A talent development process is the foundation of a career partnership with your employees. Rather than haphazardly chancing time and money on what may/or may not be a useful learning experience, the development process gives both your organization the opportunity to set objectives that will ensure that the organization realizes the fullest potential of each employee.

The primary purpose of either a career or performance development is to help employees set up reasonable goals, assess their particular strengths, and chart where they can best contribute and grow.  Effective development programs not only address how an organization can assist an individual in development, but it also addresses activities of self-development undertaken by the individual.  The Talent Development Process explores employee development from the Organization, Team and individual level.

Organization and Team Talent Development:

·         Set clear and measurable plans for each team that supports the organization’s strategic plan and goals.

·         Create a direct line of sight between the work accomplished by departments and employees and the business strategy.

·         Determine current baseline information for individuals, teams, or departments, directly linked to company goals cascading throughout the organization and assess how all employees are linked to a specific goal, standard, and or competency.

Team Member and Employee Development:

·         Includes a written schedule or plan designed to meet particular goals for development.

·         Talent Development is a method of systematically planning training and experience in order to develop the specific competencies you may need.

·         It is a framework to identify strengths and development needs and to align these with the organization's goals for success.

·         It is an individually tailored action plan that outlines developmental objectives with the activities to achieve those objectives.

·         Data captured from individual assessments provide the foundation to determine skill gaps and training or development needs unique to each team and individual (This process enables customized and individual development to employees and not a “cookie-cutter” approach to training.)

·         Establish training and development plans that focus on strategic competencies tied to business results.

·         Planned development activities are initiated and tracked throughout the organization with the primary focus on the individuals with the largest skill gap need and potential impact/return on improvement activity.

With the ICPI Development Process you will be able to:

·         Determine the individual and group development priorities by goal or competency status.

·         Determine and monitor the number of employees with a particular skill/competency gap per job role, or overall for the organization to determine where the greatest focus should be.

·         Build ROI development forecasts to determine and report on the average dollar loss based on skill gaps by individuals, department, or company wide.
